No way Lando would agree to swap back positions. I'm a Piastri fan, but that is too large of an ask, especially when the two are fighting for the drivers championship.

Same boat. Piastri fan, but I was confused why he even requested it. Maybe there's some context missing - because it seemed very strange why there would be a swap.

Here's how I understand it: at the time, he thought the penalty was for braking under the safety car, which he thought was bullshit considering how many times Max slowed down just before restarting a race, in the past. He didn't hear that the penalty was for "erratic driving".

So, thinking the penalty was bullshit, and that the team were challenging it, he figured he was owed the lead once it would be overturned.

That's how I figure his reasoning, anyway.

I've been rooting for Piastri since last season but... What even is this ask? He was like six seconds back when he asked this, and Norris had nothing to do with the penalty. I get being frustrated, even angry, that you lost your P1 to a penalty but... What a long shot lol

Although, don't ask don't get I guess?

If you no longer ask for a team order that exists, you are no longer a racing driver.

For me personally it seems like Oscar really 100% thought that penalty was bullshit, and he didnt realize what a dangerous chain reaction he caused by the sudden breaking as the safety car lights turned off.

So now we've seen his demeanor when he thinks he is being treated unfairly. Which is different from how he usually behaves. Pretty human.

First time I've seen Piastri really flustered, pressure's starting to mount!

This request was obviously in a bit of a red mist moment, realising that he'd just thrown away the win. Drivers usually say dumb shit while emotional driving around at 200mph.

I can only hope if landos race engineer told him that request he laughed so hard he nearly went off the track

Lost a lot of love for him for that, and also for whining about not getting away with the penalty after the race. You'd expect Oscar of all people to be chill about these things and just take it on the chin, maybe say a dryly funny quip (remember "move of a world champion, that"?).

I guess the championship battle is actually getting to him.
