I've been very impressed with the gaming performance on my steam deck. My main PC is running Windows, and I was thinking of switching to Linux instead. I love modding games, like I just added a bunch of graphic mods to Baldurs Gate 3, I use a ton of mods for Bethesda games like Skyrim, I use a bunch of mods for ~~Skyrim~~ Minecraft (edit I'm dumb for repeating Skyrim), etc.

Usually modding is as simple as using Nexus or another mod manager, copying and pasting files to the game folder, or running some executable that injects something into the game.

For people that game on Linux, how is the modding experience?
