Glad to see focused development

I didn't know that the App could be a launcher, will have to check that out...

And I understand the treadmill of technology, but I suspect some of my tablets will now have to go to recycling if Android 6 is minimum spec... they still have good batteries 😥

It’s a shame most Android manufacturers offer little or no support for OS updates.

No good technical reason why your 10 old tablet can’t run a 5 year old OS.

Agreed. It's driver support that's really the problem.

Fairphone's support is basically limited to how long they can negotiate with component suppliers to maintain their parts. They had an issue a few years ago due to the camera chip supplier withdrawing support.

Add support for UnifiedPush already! Please.

It's sad that this app does not support Socks 5 proxy. Otherwise, I could use a Tor hidden service as my HA entry point.

Shouldn't Orbot in VPN mode work for using Tor as a transport for HA?

Hmm. Good point. I think it should. The primary reason I don't like using invizible in VPN mode is because I want my standard web browser not to go through Tor so I can access my bank and stuff like that and don't want to have to switch it between VPN and socks mode.

That and I use private DNS or DOH and I have to turn that off in order to use it in VPN mode.

Orbot allows you to pick what apps to VPN and what apps to leave unaltered. You could just select the Home Assistant app and leave all of your other apps Tor-free.

I'm very leery of Orbot because last time I used it it caused my phone to drain super fast and caused my battery to heat up to such a point that I thought it was going to explode whereas invizible has never done that. I have several apps running over the socks proxy, such as Signal, SimpleX, antennapod, fdroid, monfluo, etc.
