I've got this raspberry pi collecting dust for a while, and I thought it'd be fun to host a valheim server on it. Well getting a vanilla server to run was easy enough, but I've been struggling with getting mods to work. Ideally I want just a few QOL server mods, hoping that avoiding client mods meant others joining wouldn't have to mess with mods at all.

Probably not how that works, tho. Anyone know how I could get this working? Anyone that lends a hand is welcome on the server too, of course lol

The Pi in question is a Raspberry Pi 4, 8gb ram, and a 64gb micro SD.

I ran a Valheim server on my Pi and AFAIK players also need to have the mods installed for them to work properly

Ya, like kit said, in pretty sure the players also need the mods installed. That said, I play with mods, and rod2modman makes it easy to export your mood list. You then share the string of numbers and letters with your players and when they import the profile, it does all the work for them. I've been playing like this with my kids no problem.

Ok cool, so will that rod2modman setup work on a headless RPi4 hosted server? I can figure out how to get client side mods to work given enough time, but how can I make sure they're set up right on the pi?

Honestly, I haven't messed with server side mods, but as long as all the clients have your mod pack, it should all work
