Lindstrom and a 4th round pick. Pens retain $1.3 million, Canadiens and Red Wings pay $2.3 million each. Contract has 2 remaining years. Seems like a relatively even trade of a veteran presence for a young defensman.

Why? They already have too many D. Are they planning to play Petry, Chirot, and Matta over Edvinsson?

We traded a borderline ahl guy for a real pro. Edvinsson also is a left shot and injured. He also wasn't clearly ready for top level play the little we saw him last year.

That's the vibe that I'm getting. Apparently Edvinsson's not even close to ready, per Yzerman.

I think it's because he's a veteran Right hand defenseman that can still play a top 4 role if needed. It'll be a good problem to have if Edvinsson can jump over Chiarot or Matta in the depth chart.

Canadiens trading Petry again. This time even b4 playing a game.

Wait. Wasn't he in Pittsburgh like ten minutes ago?

He's going around in circles! Traded to Pens last July, then traded back to Canadiens again a couple weeks ago in the Karlsson trade. I guess there was a handshake agreement with Montreal that they would move him elsewhere.
