If you can, get it at gog.com. it's on sale there for $52.98 CAD vs $71.99 CAD on steam (that's with the 10% off deal).
I just checked and it's the exact same price on GOG as it is on Steam?

Maybe you were looking at the GOG page for the Deluxe edition? The Deluxe edition of BG3 is almost the same price as the base BG3 on steam.
