It doesn't crash me, write double comments, or network error me. I'm appreciating this app more and more

Say thanks to the lemmy.world admin team for fixing issues with the Lemmy code and sorting out the load balancing for their instance.

Jerboa is more than usable, but I'm waiting until boost gets here to throw some money at that

I sent Jerboa a fiver... personally, I'm waiting to try sync, but the contributors of Jerboa deserve it. It's the best app right now in my opinion... and if development continues the way it has been, it may stay on top for me.

Same. Boost nailed the UX for Reddit - I hope the Lemmy port is just as good.

It's Sync all the way for me, but I dropped Jerboa for Connect in the meantime. Just couldn't tolerate the near-constant errors from multiple directions and no end in sight. Now? I'm patiently optimistic that Sync is gonna save the Fediverse from the deluge shortly. 🥳

Probably rather greatly helped by lemmy.world not struggling anymore.

It seems to be more reliable today. I was evaluating several other Android apps, but Jerboa has moved into top position.

[-] Nerrad@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

I had to stop using Jerboa. LiftOff is my new bestie.

[-] jake_eric@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Yeah it's become my go-to because it works well now. Still keeping some other apps installed but I'm pretty happy with Jerboa at the moment.

I definitely have less issues on jerboa now. It's the most reliable among liftoff and connect for me. Hopefully the rest of the apps get this stability soon, this is great progress from only a couple days ago!

[-] 6mementomori@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

liftoff is incompatible with my phone :( I can't use connect at all it gives me aneurysms lol

Redmi note 12 pro bought a couple weeks ago, you tell me

[-] OverfedRaccoon@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Have you tried getting it on F-Droid as opposed to the Play Store (or vice versa)? I don't see how that would necessarily make a difference unless there was a newer version pushed to F-Droid, but might be worth checking.

Should run just fine. I own a Redmi Note 11 Pro, runs just fine.

Android version?

You do know that you have to enable installing apps from unknown sources if you don't install it from the playstore, right?

[-] 6mementomori@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I guess I'll install it from not the playstore

[-] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

I've noticed the same. I've pretty much stopped using connect since yesterday. Connect sometimes hangs and crashes my system ui.

I really like jerboa, reminds me a bit of infinity. But since I only just migrated two days ago I have no comparison regarding the performance.

I can only imagine what must be happening behind the scenes with such a considerable influx of new users. Will donate soon to do my part :)

[-] mrmanager 3 points 1 year ago

Yup seems to work much better now.

[-] gballantine@kbin.bitgoblin.tech 3 points 1 year ago

It's anecdotal evidence but it seems to have been much better for me in the last day too!

Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.
