For information see Wikipedia.

Setenil de las Bodegas is a town (pueblo) and municipality in the province of Cádiz, Spain, famous for its dwellings built into rock overhangs above the Río Guadalporcún. According to the 2005 census, the city has a population of 3,016 inhabitants.

[...] The town extends along the course of the Rio Trejo with some houses being built into the rock walls of the gorge itself, created by enlarging natural caves or overhangs and adding an external wall.

also nice:

Setenil has a reputation for its meat products, particularly chorizo sausage and cerdo (pork) from pigs bred in the surrounding hills. As well as meat, it has a reputation for producing fine pasteles (pastries), and its bars and restaurants are among the best in the region. Its outlying farms also provide Ronda and other local towns with much of their fruit and vegetables.

[-] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 4 points 10 months ago

No no, these would be Spanish Acquisitions

[-] Chickenstalker@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

I read it as "Spanish panties"

¿Por qué no los dos?

This is fucking with my brain - are the rocks I'm seeing on a slope above the roofs, or are the rocks actually the ceiling of the road?

[-] smeghead@feddit.uk 10 points 10 months ago

The latter. The buildings on the right are constructed under a shelf of rock - on the left, they've built up to meet that shelf.

[-] WingedObsidian@feddit.ch 10 points 10 months ago

That is gorgeous. I wonder how they seal the buildings around the rock to prevent moisture from making a damp house

Where exactly is this? I don't remember cádiz having those houses under rocks. It's a coastal city with no real caves

Thanks for clarifying, that's very interesting:)

Are they sure that thing won't fall down? 🤣 🤣

Also, which Daedra did Cadiz offend that it sent down the Baar Dau on them?

[-] Steeve@lemmy.ca 8 points 10 months ago

Dude on the right needs to touch up their pant job and practice trimming a bit more.

[-] DauntingFlamingo@lemmy.ml 2 points 10 months ago

Seriously.. It isn't that hard to use painter's tape

[-] dustyData@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

It doesn't adhere to dusty surface or dirty rock, please understand.

[-] DauntingFlamingo@lemmy.ml 3 points 10 months ago

Painters at my home used a product they called Tyvek tape to adhere to stone and rock surfaces. It is extremely sticky and works well over light dust. Regardless of the availability of professional painters supplies, that is a terrible paint job in the photo.

The rock looks like a dog's face

[-] ChillPenguin@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

I thought I was the only one who saw that. Haha

Reminds me an Indiana Jones ride where a hologram of a boulder rolls toward you.

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.
