In my experience the most important part of intermittent fasting is in rebuilding ones relationship to hunger. By letting yourself be hungry for extended periods of time you will eventually develop less intense hunger pangs and cravings.

This was the key for me.. IF shrinks your stomach. Hard two day fasts do this even more drastically and noticeable.
I've lost 35-40 lbs in just under a year with streaks of two day fasts for two month stretches and 18/6 the rest of the time.
I do not recommend the two day fasts. You'll see much better results counting cals and maintaining a 400 cal deficit over time but I had different goals.
When your intermittent fasting, it's more difficult to eat 3000 calories, and more difficult to eat just for social reasons.
So while the summary is factually correct, it ignores the positive pressures on calorie reduction that intermittent fasting provides.
Yeah, this is my experience. I've been following IF for the past 6 months now and don't count calories or limit what or how much I eat within my 8 hour window. I still lost weight because there's only so much you can eat in 8 hours, so I'm probably eating less than I would if I wasn't fasting.
Same for me. It stopped my late night snacking, which was apparently a bigger problem than I realized.
Between that and stopping drinking, I dropped 40lbs without really trying.
Damn that's good work. Well done.
