Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just one day away from the upcoming UFC 297 pay-per-view (PPV) event on ESPN+, scheduled for this Sat. night (Jan. 20, 2024) at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. UFC 297 will be headlined by the middleweight title fight pitting reigning 185-pound champion Sean Strickland opposite No. 2-ranked title contender Dricus Du Plessis, a five-round showdown that follows the 135-pound co-headlining contest between women’s bantamweight title challengers Raquel Pennington and Mayra Bueno Silva.

UFC 297 will kick off 2024 with its first pay-per-view event as middleweight champion Sean Strickland puts his title to the test against former KSW welterweight champion Dricus du Plessis. The two will enter the ring on Saturday (Jan. 20) at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, but if you weren’t able to grab a travel deal this time or grab last-minute tickets to watch the Strickland vs. du Plessis live and in person, you can still livestream the event through PPV on ESPN+ for $69.99 at 10 p.m. ET.

The controversial Strickland won the belt from Israel Adesanya in September, dropping and outpointing the “Last Stylebender” in one of the biggest upsets in UFC history. Now the American goes up against South Africa’s Du Plessis, who is riding high after a stunning TKO of former champion Robert Whittaker.

Yet Saturday’s main event will not be the first physical altercation between Strickland and Du Plessis, who brawled in the crowd at UFC 296 in December, after the challenger mocked Strickland over the alleged abuse that the champion suffered as a child.
