So I've read somewhere or heard somewhere that the lemons you buy at the grocery store are covered in a wax and you have to boil the lemon to get rid of this wax before you can create lemon zest, is there any truth to this?

Are you saying I can't just go buy a lemon at WinCo and scrape off the skin and create lemon zest? Apparently there's some kind of wax that I have to remove first or something?
