Tabac noun, pl: Rolls

  • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Tabak Oridjinal, now with 28 mm Gelousy knot
  • Razor: Rolls Razor Imperial N° 2 with accessories
  • Blade: Rolls Blade E 45
  • Lather: Mäurer & Wirtz Tabac Original
  • Aftershave: Mäurer & Wirtz Tabac Original
  • Fragrance: Mäurer & Wirtz Tabac Original
  • Talc: Pinaud Clubman Finest Powder

This time around, I didn't mind the floppiness of the knot as much and I got a truly stellar lather 🤔 This loft is getting another chance.

January 23, 2024 - Two Tea Tuesday

  • Brush: Wald Stratos Goldvein 29mm A1 Fan

  • Razor: Parker 510 13/16" Square Point Full Hollow

  • Lather: Noble Otter - Thé Noir et Vanille - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Lemon - Toner

  • Aftershave: Barrister and Mann - Cheshire - Aftershave

  • Fragrance: Floris of London - No. 89 - Eau de Toilette

  • Talc: Pinaud Clubman Finest Powder

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

TNeV followed by Cheshire is the right order of scents for a Two Tea Tuesday IMO. Adding Floris 89 just improved the fragrance journey.

Another day of lather tweaking. Again, I took the lather to the point of easily washing cleanly from the razor but not as far as my normal just-shy-of dripping state. The Swedish steel on this Japanese Parker certainly loved it. Amazing shave today.

That's a very nice razor - is this the Japanese Parker you talked about?

Tuesday, January 23, 2024: Zingari Zischtig

Do I know what to do? I thought about using Autumn Ash and getting serious with the kill, but then I told myself that there's no good reason not to enjoy a Zingari Zischtig. The brush is still a bit hard on the face, but I might give it a chance (and I don't seem to have the grip strength to extract to knot, which facilitates decisions.)

Have a good evening!

SOTD 23.01.2024

  • Prep: warm water
  • Razor: Stando Perun
  • Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum
  • Brush: TGS Galaxy 26 mm
  • Lather: House of Mammoth - Tobacconist
  • Post Shave: Thayer's Aloe Vera toner; Phytorelax Headshave ASB

Tobacco Tuesday head shave. Again only one pass, but good enough.

Tobacconist is such a great soap. Easily in my top 5 of scents... There's something so unique and warm I enjoy about it. Plus, HoM has a great base that treats my skin really well.

No fragrance today since I got a bad skin reaction on both my trapezius and left wrist. Probably from spraying on way too many different fragrances. I guess it's back to spraying on my clothes and elbows for a while...

I've had frag burn from all sorts of soap scents, but never on my chest, etc. Of course I've used 10x or 20x as many different soap scents than frag scents, so maybe I've just been lucky.

Still, they're different types of skin so I wonder if the face is typically more sensitive to it.

Tobacconist++ my tub has a hole in the bottom.

On the other end of the spectrum, I've never had frag burn by a soap, not even the two A&E I own. However, I'm unsure if what I have could be called frag burn... It looks more like an allergic reaction. My scalp reacts really sensitive to alcohol, so any usual aftershaves are out but toners are ok. Skin is weird sometimes...

Tobacconist is definitely S-tier, both in scent and performance 👌🏻
