It's just a joke. RGB lighting is used in digital displays/lighting.
The sky is normally Blue.
They are now showing it as Red.
So naturally Green skies will follow.

It may be though 'green flashes in the sky' following deep red sunsets I think is more a ufo thing
They thought someone cast the 9th level prismatic barrier over New York and were going to destroy the first three colors really quick.
