The Justice Department filed a lawsuit today against Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) for discriminating against asylees and refugees in hiring. The lawsuit alleges that, from at least September 2018 to May 2022, SpaceX routinely discouraged asylees and refugees from applying and refused to hire or consider them, because of their citizenship status, in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

Moreover, asylees’ and refugees’ permission to live and work in the United States does not expire, and they stand on equal footing with U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents under export control laws.

Pure racism at SpaceX.

Racism from the company owned by a white South African who's family party owned an emerald mine in Zambia. Unheard of.

that's disgusting behavior, and anyone involved with power should be fired. imagine the mentality of a person that wouldn't hire a refugee. these people were forced out of their homelands, and they're being singled out because of that. it should be an honor that a refugee chose our country, yet here these assholes are punishing them for it.

business-wise, it's a stupid move. they come withe considerably different experiences and ways of thinking. their contributions would help brainstorm new ways and break group think. pushing them away helps to maintain the same old way of doing things rather than progressing.

it's both an ethically and operationally bad move. they have lost my confidence. SpaceX has lost a fan.
