Most of the bots on Lemmy so far are just link-dumping from Reddit and RSS feeds. It ruins All and it looks like a lot of it is starting to go to community farming. I saw one yesterday where the bot was using multiple accounts and posting shortened links to survey sites across a bunch of Astro-turfed communities.

Oh, and the article-summarized bot is here, too.

Not really. It often clips out important bits of information, some that can completely change the narrative.

Yeah it could be better.

I like the one that shows people how to make instance-neutral links.

Bots that want to be here on Lemmy.World has to follow some bot-rules. This was to avoid most of the Reddit reporters and general spammy bots. Here is a list of bots that i know of: (I am not pinging the bots, as that will most likely activate them and make them answer me in some way)

And that's about it actually, as far as I know ๐Ÿ˜…

The ones I've encountered so far were actually helpful like @CommunityLinkFixer and PipedLinkBot@feddit.rocks but I have yet to find any annoying ones like that Haiku generator bot from reddit. I'm not sure whether there is a measurement converter bot yet but if there is none, it would be a welcome addition.

The Piped link bot is obnoxious and unnecessary
