They are checking

I wish Red Bull would just unleash Max instead of just telling him to build a ~15 sec gap and then drive to a delta. If we can't have competition at the front, at least let us watch Max lap the entire field.

[–] dimspace@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

If Red Bull do that, then F1 will start bringing a whole raft of rule changes mid season to try an screw over Red Bull and make them slower

(I mean they tried to do that last year with the floor rulings, but Red Bull ended up getting even better)

[–] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Wasn't the floor rulings a late implementation of intended porpoising prevention? Or was there another floor change I forgot about?

Also funny how by the time the floor change was implemented most teams had already fixed porpoising and all it accomplished was making following harder again.

Ferrari was still struggling with it in the latter half of 2022

[–] t0fr@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 months ago

Sainz has REALLY been performing and showing what he can do!

[–] MaddieTian@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 months ago

Max is 15 second up the road. I was hoping for a better year with some actual racing involved.

Ah well. Guess I’ll try again in 2026 with the rule changes.

Mom, Max is at it again

[–] dimspace@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

10 laps, 8 seconds in front and not even trying.

Can we just give Max the title, let him take the year off and have a new competition for "second is the first winner"

[–] acidagfc@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago

I like Max as a person, but having another season of him racing in a league of his own is too much.

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Leclerc really struggling out there. Brutal.

Max's so ahead he'll reach Saudi Arabia for the next race by the end of this one.

[–] krimson@feddit.nl 2 points 6 months ago

Max has his own calendar. Abu Dhabi in May.

[–] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Yuki getting the Ferrari treatment

Lawrence Barretto's prediction on Hamilton seems to be spot on atm.

[–] june@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

What was his prediction again?

[–] wes@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

I am not 100% sure but I thought 8th this race and Hamilton gave him a β€œhard time” about it during the drivers parade.

[–] Gsicht@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Nice move from Carlos.

[–] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Maxito, Don't play with your food

[–] june@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Will Buxton just said Checo is β€˜Keen as mustard’ and it caught me off guard. Never heard that one before lol.

[–] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Alex have you tried restarting it?

[–] SlicingBot@lemmy.ml 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Interesting to put Checo on the softs.

[–] l_b_i@yiffit.net 2 points 6 months ago

No hards available.

[–] listener17@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 months ago

Riveting stuff. Excited there's 23 more races of this. /s

[–] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Max with another grand slam

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Brutal pitstop for Bottas. He's always the unlucky one.

[–] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

This is suddenly becoming a race of reliability.

[–] Gsicht@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

The Ferraris... My poor heart!

[–] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Nothing new.....atleast we haven't seen any strategy fuckups yet

[–] SlicingBot@lemmy.ml 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I'm concerned for the Ferrari, I thought their race pace was supposed to be good.

[–] june@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Can’t help but wonder if Charles is the problem today. Carlos is looking strong.

Did F1 run out of contract with AWS to show us timings and stats or what? Or is AWS fucking shit up themselves as usual?

[–] baru@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Did F1 run out of contract with AWS

They mentioned AWS, why would they do that if that wasn't about AWS sponsoring that? I did see a prediction of one car overtaking another. It was completely inaccurate.

[–] sloppynachos@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Tuned in a bit late, was there any prime Brundle cringe during the grid walk?

[–] Nfamwap@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

He interviewed Jeremy Clarkson, who looked rather tipsy.

[–] cozy_agent@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

His voice sounded so different.

[–] cozy_agent@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Is Zak getting paid by Sky or something? They always talk to him.

[–] SlicingBot@lemmy.ml 2 points 6 months ago

They usually have several of the TPs and team personnel give commentary each race. They rotate week to week.

Seems nothing like that, they also talk to James(Williams TP) sometimes and they did so last year in some races.
