My fiance and I are starting to plan our wedding and neither of us know the going rate for these services individually. I wanted to ask around to make sure we don't get fleeced and also to be sure we don't lowball anyone. We are planning a destination wedding and will be hiring a local professional, but I wanted to get a global idea what rates are.

Ask in the community for your area. Col is a bitch.

Not destination prices but in the UK it’s typically £750-£1500 for a day of photography in the north. That takes into account editing and maybe an album plus digital versions of the photos. Depending on your destination I’d reckon it could be a bit more? That’s just a guess though really depends on what you want, printed albums, big prints of a few of your favourites etc

Thanks for the input! This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I know that prices will vary by location, but I am curious nonetheless. The destination is in latin america so it should be a bit cheaper, especially since it is not in costa rica. I was pretty much just thinking the photographer's time, editing, and digital copies.

Can only speak for the US, but I’d expect $3-5K if you go for a high end video

I had a buddy who did wedding photography many years ago and he would charge 2-3 grand in 2005 dollars.
