Good, run that into the ground too and be rid of it.

Well, TikTok can't get any worse, right?

If this was a cartoon, now would be the time it starts raining on you while viewing TikTok.

I tried TikTok some time ago and got bored with it.

I'm the type that prefers long form content. I watch 20-240 minute videos on YouTube,

I never got into Vines or the Vines/TikTok clone thing YouTube is doing either.

So most of the crap I see from TikTok is here, on Reddit and Mastodon.

And normally only the most entertaining crap from a platform gets to other platforms and I'm not impressed by what I've seen, at all.

You're just not the target audience. Likely too old.

When I worked in a factory, all the old country maintenance guys and techs were on tik Tok during their breaks.

Yeah weirdly my parents (in their 60s) are getting into tiktok, reels and Facebook.

There was a YT channel some time ago, before Vine and before TikTok (or musical.ly) called 5 Second Videos or something like that that produced genuinely entertaining content (in horizontal format).

Not a chance. It's a very valuable CCP propaganda tool, they're not going to just hand it over to the literal enemy. Well it could technically happen if Kotick agrees to kneel and kiss the ring but then it wouldn't really be his company anyway.

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 18 points 6 months ago

Why do you think Kotick is "the enemy"? Kotick has already worked extensively with and supported the CCP through Blizzard. Pretty sure they're on good terms.

It might stop the heat though if he's a US puppet to appease congress.

As long as he buys it and Biden bans it after.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Bobby Kotick is genuinely more evil than the current owners.

Please, no.
