So which specific platforms are they integrated with? Just Mastodon or are there others?

Sounds like federation is more theoretical than real at this point. I don’t see much point in one way federation. But does this mean that threads users could pop into this thread and comment?

Ah I guess I hadn’t thought it through fully. So this does almost nothing in the current implementation.

You can easily see which instances are linked to, blocking, or have joined the Fedipact against Threads through this site. This place might be yesterday's news to some people, but it might be helpful if Threads federation, or lack of it, is important enough to you to jump ship to another server.
