“What doctors and medical staff are telling us is more and more they are seeing the effects of starvation; they’re seeing newborn babies simply dying because they (are) too low birth weight,” said Dr Margaret Harris from the UN World Health Organization (WHO).

In response to the findings of Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report on Gaza published on Monday, UN human rights chief Volker Türk insisted that “hunger, starvation and famine” were the result of Israel’s “extensive restrictions on the entry and distribution of humanitarian aid and commercial goods”, mass population displacement and the destruction of crucial civilian infrastructure.

While infants and young children are among the least able to cope with chronic hunger according to WHO, the UN health agency said that medical teams in the war-shattered enclave have been admitting increasing numbers of dangerously underweight pregnant women.

“This is entirely man-made, everything we're seeing medically; this was a territory where the health system functioned well,” said Dr Harris, adding that malnutrition was “non-existent”. “It was a population that could feed itself,” she insisted.

Israel is committing unspeakable acts of evil. It is mind numbing how they can do this. A country of psychopathic supremacists. They are the Nazis of the 21st century.

The United States is committing unspeakable acts of evil. The one who loads a gun in full knowledge that it will be used for murder is as guilty as the one who pulls the trigger. We loaded it, reloaded it, reloaded it, and reloaded it again. The blood of Gaza is on our hands, on Biden's hands, every bit as much as it is on Israel's. Aaron Bushnell knew that.

And yes, everything you said of Israel is true. But it is equally true of the United States. I have family who supported cutting off all food, water, and medicine from Gaza after Oct 7. People on here insist that we must vote for Biden. This is no less psycopathic. It is banal evil.

If Biden was carpet bombing Kansas and Trump was saying we need to do it harder, no one would argue that we must vote for Biden as the lesser of two evils. It would be crystal clear that if the only choice we have is either Trump or Biden, the whole system must be dismantled. We must pursue every avenue to end the carnage. But when Kansas is replaced with Gaza, genocide is merely an unpleasant pill to swallow.

"I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip. There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed,” “We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly"

Israel’s “extensive restrictions on the entry and distribution of humanitarian aid and commercial goods”, mass population displacement and the destruction of crucial civilian infrastructure.

Yes now it's at fever pitch but this has been the case for the past 50 years. Good that people are noticing it now but what a high price to pay for that visibility.
