  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

Restrict Arms Transfers

Among other weapons, the United States has sent tens of thousands of artillery shells and thousands of unguided “dumb” bombs. It is not known just how many of them have been used in Gaza, but Israelis have not hidden the fact that these weapons are essential to the war effort. “All of our missiles, the ammunition, the precision-guided bombs, all the airplanes and bombs, it’s all from the US,” retired Israeli Maj. General Itzhak Brik said in November. “The minute they turn off the tap, you can’t keep fighting. You have no capability.”

Follow the Law

There is a strong case that even if the Biden administration wants to keep sending military aid to Israel, it is legally prohibited from doing so. Section 620I of the Foreign Assistance Act blocks the president from providing military assistance to a country that restricts access to US humanitarian assistance. Aid organizations, reporters, administration officials, and Israel’s own finance minister have made it clear that Israel is restricting humanitarian assistance from the United States and other countries for people in Gaza. As a result, Dylan Williams, the vice president for government affairs at the Center for International Policy, said Biden “is not complying with the law at this point.”

Biden is under no obligation to provide thousands of bombs to a country whose leader has consistently ignored him as Israel wages a brutal war that has leveled much of Gaza and caused children to die of starvation. “We need to stick to our own values,” Ford said. “If our values say, ‘Starving children is way beyond the pale,’ then we need to react to that and take stern action, whether or not it changes Israeli policy.”

Woah woah woah you mean have principles and actually stick to them? In an election year? Outrageous. /s

I like how the article points out in a couple of places how Ronald fucking Reagan took more action against Israel than Biden has.

And for posting this you get downvotes. Not because anything is wrong with it or because it isn't relevant to the community, just because Biden is failing on this issue and there is a hardened cadre of pathetic tribalist babies who can't handle an ounce of criticism of a president sending weapons to a genocidal government.

Sticking your heads in the sand will not win you the election.

Well you know, Trump would genocide them even harder, so we really should be grateful. Plus the US has strategic interests in protecting the only genocidal apartheid democracy in the Middle East, and by protect I mean help them genocide brown people. Anyways, after Iraq and Afghanistan, it's about time we score some wins against the Arabs
