Didn't they do that in one of the ~~movies~~ fan fictions?

[–] pimento64@sopuli.xyz 31 points 8 months ago (1 children)

No, that didn't happen in either Terminator or T2 and they never made any others ever

The third one wasn't horrible, they at least stuck to the basics. It just wasn't great either.

It was a pretty fun action movie. Meh as a follow up to T2, but honestly how do you top T2...

I don't get the hate it receives. We've seen how bad it could have been.

I love the ending of the 3rd one. I think it's one of the coolest doomsday scenes from any movie. It's the final culmination of everything you've been hearing for 3 entire movies. It has finally come. They could not prevent it. Their future was written.

I also really love how the entire movie all the electronics keep glitching out in the background as Skynet is slowly spreading itself throughout the internet and gaining control of everything.

Yeah pretty much

I mean we only know of 1: John Connor. And that dude literally had an AI, sent it back it time so it could guide his kid self. That was after he sent Kyle Reese. T-100 literally replaced Reese's job.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

The T-100 couldn't impregnate his mother with him though, so it didn't really replace Reese, it supplemented him.

Not to mention the John Conner that did that was a robutt

Ugh. I did another round of battle with ChatGPT today, trying to figure out some M.

It's fucking horrible at query languages. I have to rescue it from its own insanity a lot. Get really, really specific with the conditions else it starts forgetting them, or break things up in small portions so it doesn't try be a Dev wizard and fizzle.

[–] BluesF@lemmy.world 6 points 8 months ago

I'm out of practice with M but I do enjoy figuring things out, so feel free to ask this human if you have another query.

It helped me write a form validation script yesterday in like 5 minutes. It's pretty good at some things, despite not being good at others.

As in feeding newborns or as in taking care of the sick?

Definitely caring for the sick. I don't feel like my job is ANYWHERE near able to be done by a computer program.

Feels like physical artisan crafty type jobs will always have a market? At least that's what I'm hoping, as a carpenter 😬

One day the AI will dream up 3D printed Wood. The rest will robots (like the ones in car factories) do.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Then I will service the robot's mechanical mechanics.

I feel like there'll always be a market for handmade things, as there is now - people buy the stuff I make even though you can get something equivalent from IKEA for a fraction of the price

[–] sagrotan@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

If that AI is worth 2 cents, that's one of the most likely jobs done by the AI. Think about it. Or at least manipulate someone to do it.
