Is the plan that you are going to use that nail scissor as your main household scissor? When you buy something in a thick blister pack your plan is to awkwardly chew trough the plastic with a tiny and slightly curved nail scissor?

Yeah, but the point they are making is that this is packaging for nail scissors. So they wouldn't use those nail scissors on such packaging anyway, so why are they complaining about not having regular scissors if nail scissors wouldn't help here when already unpacked anyways

That's a good way to get cut. Even if you wear gloves, keep the blade sharp and cut away from yourself you still are at risk

[-] mectag@feddit.de 1 points 3 months ago

No, I‘m travelling and needed these. It’s not great packaging in general, but even worse when you’re traveling.

[-] JustBrian7872@feddit.de 12 points 3 months ago

Ah the famous scissors-package problem - Now we finally know which came first!

[-] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago

I once bought a tool designed specifically for cutting open that bullshit.

It came wrapped in that bullshit and I almost lost my shit.

[-] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 9 points 3 months ago

Be glad you still have your bull

[-] synapse1278@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago

Simply use your packaging-scissors to open the packaging of your nail-scissors.

[-] Gakomi@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

Pretty sure it does not specify with what to cut. Scissor are always used to depict cutting action, my point is you can use something else to cut that package

[-] Syd@lemm.ee 4 points 3 months ago

Pretty sure you have to use scissors. The diagram clearly shows a pair of scissors.

[-] Gakomi@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

The scissors are used in this context to show that you should cut it open from there in my opinion.

[-] Sidyctism@feddit.de 2 points 3 months ago

Nah. This material is impervious to anything other than a pair of household scissors

[-] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 months ago

Yeah you can use a chainsaw but if you don't have one you can use a hand saw

[-] Gakomi@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

You went a little far with that, knife everyone has on at home

[-] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 months ago

I think its extremely common that all knifes people have at home are old and dull.

[-] Gakomi@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Doubt it because how would people cook if that was true!

[-] c0mpost@lemmy.eco.br 5 points 3 months ago

I've cut those with knives. Works great.

[-] Texas_Hangover@lemm.ee 3 points 3 months ago

Yeah, knives are pretty good at cutting things.

[-] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 months ago

Insert screaming madman noises

Yeah, not when you’re travelling. What I find mildly infuriating about this, is that they could’ve just added a little cut so you can open it without tools.

[-] Showroom7561@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 months ago

Of all the objects in the world, I think this type of packaging has probably cut up my hands more than anything else.

And I love it when the product is delicate and encased in this plastic fortress... like SD cards.

Every man and woman should have a pocket knife. Be prepared.
