Have we entered some sort of digital blocking era here in Singapore? Just saw that the English Premier League has gone all out, securing a court order to make ISPs block 25 of the most frequented illegal football streaming sites in Singapore.

Currently, there are 460 such sites successfully blocked so seems like they cracked it down successfully. The league's use of advanced technology means these pirate sites can't just wiggle their way around the blocks anymore by simply making a new URL... And it's not just happening here – seems like there’s a global campaign brewing, with Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia joining the block party.

Since the EPL is considered the top sports entertainment in our region with the UEFA Champions League also trapped in this situation, it will be interesting to observe the efficacy of these further blocks…

What can football fans do to watch games without breaking these new rules now? VPN is the last way to go.

A considerable number of Redditors have been distributing a comparison table for VPN services, simplifying the process for the rest of us to select an appropriate service and navigate around these new restrictions.

Got my eyes on a few premium Singapore VPN deals myself – seems like that’s our only workaround left that won't break the bank. I’ll check them out and update you in the thread.
