Man, I didn't know London was it such bad shape. It's in black & white. That's crazy.

We'll need to abandon it like the police were going to abandon Manhatten Island in the late 70s

Must have been shot before the world gained colors.

They've already got in trouble for this and had to edit out footage from New York.

That's before the general fact-checking reveal just about every claim is nonsense.

I wonder if they can be prosecuted for this as it is so misleading.

The tone of the video is somewhere between a parody (Twilight Zone) and a fearmongering Republican attack ad. It's like they want to be scary in a tongue in cheek way? Whole thing is like a Brass Eye sketch.

Not sure you can get away with this type of political ad even if they think they are being cute or whatever.

Crime capital of the world? Its nowhere near it.

Apart from that, they are implying the (conservative, themselves) government has no control over law and order whatsoever.

Seems like they're selectively picking their crime stats, starting from the minimal crime that occurred during the lockdowns rather than crime before then.

Of all the weirdness here, the American accent has to top the list. Who is this actually aimed at?

General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(
