Is there a way to do this? Its pretty tedious to pick a book, go to your inventory, read it, discard it, everytime.

I didn't see which community this was in, which made it a pretty amusing type of confusion for a minute.

I'd also love to eat food without putting it in my inventory. Quick break between clearing rooms to scarf down everything in the break room.

Yeah, like the same functionality as with equipment where you can hold down E to equip rather than loot.

I would eat a lot more things if this was an option

I really wish it's a bug. And I wish I can place them on a shelf and build a collection. I dont remember if it was in modded Skyrim or legit in the game ahah.

I almost think it's a bug, because the UI gives you two options, press the use button, or press the back button, but neither does anything different.

Yeah it feels like a weird oversight, considering it was present in Skyrim / FO3+4

How do you read books? I didn't know you could do that. I sold a bunch of books before reading them 🤦🏻‍♀️
