For millennials, the Z80 was the CPU of the ubiquitous TI-83 graphing calculator.
Texas Instruments is currently malding that they're going to have to end the TI-84 Plus, Plus SE, and Plus C SE lines.
Only the Plus CE shall remain, as it uses the still-produced eZ80.
Sucks that there is no drop-in replacement package for diy projects.
I'm sure there will continue to be knockoff z80's manufactured in China for a long time. There are plenty available on AliExpress right now, though I'm not sure of the quality.
