That's one of the problems with this, yes. Another problem is that law enforcement are not good guys.

We care about privacy! -- signal

You need a phone number to sign up... and you can't even hide it from anyone you talk to... -- also signal

I'm sure the encryption and stuff is great... but there's more to privacy and security than not seeing what is inside the messages.
