The EU is dead. I don't think we will ever get a conclusion.

Even if we did it's going to be so far removed from the team that made the first one it wouldn't feel the same anymore. I think the time for a sequel that feels like a true sequel is far gone
That certainly seems to be the way disney is going, I'm just so perplexed by them having Scorch be a reoccurring background character in the bad batch if they aren't going to do something with him.
Yes and no. We're never getting a sequel. But creators of Bad Batch confirmed that Scorch was the commando leading the other clones during the protagonist escape.
One thing Iβve learned is when they name drop someone itβs important.
Scorch is scorch instead of a random clone for a reason.
Is this worth playing today?
Yes it is, use the mods on this Wiki and it will run on current hardware https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Republic_Commando
Thank you (and thanks to everyone else who replied). Iβm going to give this a shot.
Personally, I'd say yes, it hasn't aged well on PC (your cursor will move at Mach 2 in menus even on the lowest possible sensitivity for example) and the graphics could certainly use an update, but the squad combat & banter still feels great. The game also does a great job of feeling like it fits into the universe, it came out about 3 months before Revenge of the Sith, and includes tons of references and hints to its plot that feel like something an actual in universe clone would see.
I will warn you however, if you end up playing it, the game is very hard at points, and the AI can be pretty stupid at times.
One of my favourites from my childhood, but I havenβt played it in a while so Iβm not sure if itβs nostalgia talking.
From my childhood they say. God Iβm old.
I believe there was a book that was supposed to wrap up the cliffhanger. I would love a remaster of this game.
All they need is a modern remake with an extra level or two to wrap it up
