About us

πŸ€— Thanks for joining our little instance here, located in Oregon. The idea is to have a fast, stable instance and allow users to subscribe to whatever content they want from here.

😎 We dont block any other instances. We will keep it that way unless it becomes a moderation problem.

🀠 We will be around for a very long time, so you dont have to worry about us shutting down the instance anytime soon. We like performance and stability in our servers, and will upgrade the instance when its needed.

πŸ₯Ή Make sure to join a lot of remote communities to get a good feed going. How to do that is explained here.

Lemmy mobile apps

You should start using one of these ASAP since the web browser user interface is quite ugly, even with themes.

A comment on a Hacker News thread on a Business Insider article titled It’s not just you β€” no one is posting on social media anymore got me thinking about my experience with switching to Mastodon and why I have found it a refreshing experience.

In many ways, Mastodon feels like rewinding the clock on social media back to the early days of Twitter and Facebook. On the consume side, that means that your home feed has no algorithm (this can be disorienting at first).

Practically, it means that you see only what you want to see and only see it linearly. You never wonder β€œwhy am I seeing this and how do I make it go away?”. Content can only enter your home feed via your followed tags or handles and the feed is linear like the early days of social media.
