๐Ÿค— Thanks for joining our little instance here, located in Oregon. The idea is to have a fast, stable instance and allow users to subscribe to whatever content they want from here.

๐Ÿ˜Ž We dont block any other instances. We will keep it that way unless it becomes a moderation problem.

๐Ÿค  We will be around for a very long time, so you dont have to worry about us shutting down the instance anytime soon. We like performance and stability in our servers, and will upgrade the instance when its needed.

๐Ÿฅน Make sure to join a lot of remote communities to get a good feed going. How to do that is explained here.

Anytype, an Obsidian alternative, is now Open Source (github.com)
 
 

We believe that any software should support fundamental digital freedoms. With the rise of cryptography and computer systems, it is now possible to guarantee these freedoms in the world of bits: privacy of thoughts, freedom of speech, right to authorship, and autonomy from software providers. These rights can be encoded into the code, which when open, can be freely verified by anyone. This way, trust among users and developers can be established.

This is our way. By opening our source code, we ensure that our users have complete autonomy and independence from the Any Association. They retain the ability to analyze, compile, and run each software component on their personal machines without relying on external parties. This guarantees uninterrupted access to the tools and data they generate and store, shielding them from any potential restrictions.

We see our products as an open ecosystem where the community can contribute in various ways, not only by committing to the core source code. Contributors can develop integrations, design themes, create use cases for the in-app library, or provide documentation and translations.

Anytype has finally followed through on their promise and open sourced their repositories. Self hosting is now possible though there is no docker container available.

This is a major step forward for all PKMS and I wholeheartedly congratulate them.

btw Anytype is free, even their included sync service, which is the best of any offline-first style PKMS I have experienced. Anytype is top 3 PKMS for me, followed by Logseq and SiYuan. They're in good company and now it's only going to improve!
