Same! I saw the title and thought, "wtf happened to PNG?!?!"

I think an easy "donate" button on Firefox that just easily took users to the donation page would be nice and easy. It's why I donate to wiki during their fund runs: it's right there, reminding me, and easy to do. Now, if they make it obnoxious, it'd just push donations away. It's a fine line.

I meant to download from the official Microsoft site.

Kudos on getting your mum on Linux! I was unable to keep mine on it : /

Maybe I'm missing something, but this is from the "Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) for x64 devices" section from the official Microsoft site, but I don't see any option to buy or mention of it:

Before you begin downloading an ISO Make sure you have:

  • An internet connection (internet service provider fees may apply).
  • Sufficient data storage available on the computer, USB, or external drive you are downloading the .iso file to.
  • A blank DVD disc with at least 8GB (and DVD burner) to create a bootable disc. We recommend using a blank USB or blank DVD, because any content on it will be deleted during installation.
  • If you receive a “disc image file is too large” message while attempting to burn a DVD bootable disc from an ISO file, consider using a higher capacity Dual Layer DVD.

To pta, yes. To Lemmy, no.

Download the iso and install home. It won't stop you, ask for a key, or attempt to activate later. It just installs, runs, and spies happily.

But, yes, I suppose that you're supposed to pay for it, but they don't seem to care that much, if at all.

I agree that Windows Pro is a slightly better experience than Windows Home, but the right Linux distro for you is where it's at. I usually recommend Mint for newcomers, and not one has had issues (beyond the expected "this looks different" comments). I've installed Elementary for one person who came from a life of Mac, and she dove right in with almost no hiccups. Know your audience, I guess is the lesson here lol

Much beloved US phone company Verizon

Bullshit.

If we want to get even more pedantic (which I thoroughly enjoy lol), we can even point out that Nixon used the phrase "last version of windows" to mean the "latest version" or "the last version to have been released to date".

This is in a similar grammatical sense as staying "last week" or "last Wednesday". Last week wasn't the last week to have ever existed. Last Wednesday wasn't the last Wednesday to have ever existed, either. And windows 10 wasn't the last windows version to ever be released... it was just the latest (or, "last") version as of the time Nixon said it.

What's the conversion ratio of Microsoft Points to Schrute Bucks?

Once enabled as your PC's backup solution provider from the settings miniapp, it will backup the data on the PC. So, you can't only enable it.

Windows Homs is free, too.

But here's the thing that many people (not you) don't understand. Windows Home is free, as in beer. Linux is free, as in speech, AND free, as in beer.

Yesterday, I was reading this post on an open source solution to detecting and deleting CSAM material on Lemmy. I was reading the post, then my browser crashed mid-read. I've been looking for it ever since, and can't find it. Can anyone link it?

Black tea is strong, as are fruity notes (blackberry, maybe?). The acidity of the kiwi is there somewhat, but mostly, I taste its sweetness. I'm not sure I taste the lemongrass at all, but that's not saying much, as it could just be masked by the other notes. Overall, this is a very nice roast.

OC for you.

Half asleep, I added coffee to the espresso grinder. Never has it been more clear, that grind size matters.

I was watching friends, and this scene came on. Instantly made me think of GNU plus Linux.

My OG content for your viewing pleasure

I have these wire shelves that are held together with these plastic caps. I'm reconfiguring the layout and ran out of caps. It's been a decade+/- since we got these, and I can't remember the name. Does anyone know where I can get more of these caps? Or, at least, what these caps and/or shelves are called, so I can go hunting for them?

I roasted a Sidamo G1 to right after first crack. I pulled one shot today, and it's amazing!

I can only see this going into a very dystopian path. Based on their actions, I don't trust these companies, their security practices, nor their privacy policies. Why would I give them my biometrics? And my full palm, at that!? Hell no!

Hopefully you're having a better morning than putting friggin coffee beans in the friggin water reservoir.

That is all.

Original post was titled "Coffee machines reliability chart", but the image says that they're in the "espresso machine category".

The biggest swiss online seller makes charts for warranty claims. Basically: how many warranty claims does each brand have? This chart only shows the most popular brands of coffee machines sold on the site, but I still find it interesting.

Went to a wedding and they had a poet dressed like a fox. You give him a word and he types out a poem on an old-timey typewriter. Of course, I chose 'espresso'.

I asked him why a fox. So, he's a professional poet. One of his friends gave him a fox costume as a joke. He wore it to his friend's kid's birthday party (IIRC), and loved it. He started doing that as a side hustle (wearing the costume at parties, writing poems), and later, started doing it full time. He says that it's fun for everyone involved, and allows him to get creative with very little in terms of overextended expectations. REALLY nice guy!

Here he is:
