Their TV does but I'm not sure how it works with monitors. Maybe it's just hardcoded ads in their software. I don't see how the monitor can have a network connection..
You just criticized the OP for the exact same thing.
I can offer some constructive tips to you as well: dont speak for all of us.
I liked the article. I didn't interpret it as "everyone must do what I say". It was simply a viewpoint from a person on the internet. That is what a blog is.
The complexity of tech stacks have increased enormously in the last 10 years, and it's only sane to see what tradeoffs we are making to be able to scale easily. Perhaps it's not worth the trouble for 90% of us. If we follow best practice from cloud providers without thinking for ourselves, we will not learn to think for ourselves either.
So let's do that. Let's think, wrote blogs, discuss, and allow for discussions. Don't shut people down.
There is a trend on social media in general to shut down certain opinions and words, and to create a space that is "safe" (as in prison being safe).
This is something I've criticized also before. It's very bad for the Lemmy network to be so centralized, even if the intentions may have been good from the beginning.
Now, if Lemmy.world decides to not federate with your instance, you are on your own.
I hope you understand it was a joke, and if not, it's probably good to try and recognize humor to fight real depression. :)
Give it time. :)
I love the name. :)
Good info, I just wish people would have listened in the beginning a year ago. There was a lot of mistakes being made back then that caused what we see now.
Pretty sure we are all depressed... :)
I don't know, I guess it's possible. I just get so annoyed when posts are locked or removed entirely. There is rarely any reason for that except removing work from moderators. If we optimize for as little moderation as possible, I think it means that everyone remaining are just agreeing with eachother and the others left.
Good to know, thank you!
