Thank you.

The script for Lemmy would be awesome. Could you share it, if possible?

Had read about them recently when looking up about bookmarklets:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Userscript

Which userscript manager do you use? What are your opinions/advice on security of using them?

Also, are there other similar things like bookmarklets and userscripts that regular people can start off fast?

Are there any lemmy communities or resouces(wikis, forums, youtube channels etc) that are on the topic of simple/beginner-friendly automation and customisation?

Thanks in advance

Yep

Got lots of info on leftist thought on Lemmy in general
The foss communities are nice

Recently asked about bookmarklets here(this community) and the answers were cool

I need to ask about userscripts.

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.sdf.org/post/38059672

Got to know of them recently. They seem very cool.
Like, I don't have to install anything extra.

I especially like this one that shows Id links. Useful while sharing wikipedia links:
https://github.com/madacol/web-automation/blob/master/bookmarklets/Id%20Linker.js

And

This one which helps to use text fragments:

Discliamer: Be careful with copy-pasting bookmarklets into your browser. Only do so if you trust it.

Which all bookmarklets do you use, find useful?
Please share them.

Are there similar easy things that most people sort of easily have access to? I think Libreoffice's/Excel's record macro function would be useful for people too.

Are there any communities for similar things, sort-of like beginner automation?

Thanks in advance.

How would a moving fan affect this?

Maybe get them interested in some useful/simple automation/shortcuts stuff?

Bookmarklets? Easy to start.

I think the best option would be finding their uses/needs and tailoring the approach to that.

If they use excel/Libreoffice, maybe the Record macro option would be good? Or mail merge?
Teach them.about the quick access bar and some new shortcuts that would help them?

I think helping them with backing up settings and data would be a good thing too.
It'll be a good start, to get them to know the need and importance of backups. Backups could also make them more confident in trying out stuff. Like, knowing that they can come back to the backup if things go wrong.

No issues.
Maybe you will see a use after some time.
I find the id one useful for sites like wikipedia.

Thank you. That's cool

Thank you

Edit:
The copy-paste bookmarklet does not seem to help with allowing copy-paste in the mobile version of the facebook website.

I came here around the same time too.
I remember registering in Mander or so earlier, but didn't about the fediverse and forgot the account.

I still use reddit because of the local communities, but I like lemmy a lot more.

Learnt more about leftism and the general culture seems much better here(Likely due to the size of the communities, the mods and the logs being transparent)

Is this the MAGA communism that some mention in the net?

  • No mute button. I want to see what the pro-Russia people post in the Privacy, Degoogle, and Linux communities, but I don't want to hear their replies when it comes to politics. Actually, maybe there should be a "block only within this community" button.

There should be a "Mute all who mute you(even in other communities)" button to balance this too

Enact land reform and nationalisation of resources in countries that want it.
Help with infra development.

If super intellect is available, then fusion, vaccines and similar stuff. Also setting up some cheap manufacturing of medicines.

Asking out of curiosity

It would be cool if they added an option to search and select multiple bookmarks and move them to a folder.
Currently they allow selecting bookmarks and moving them, but not inside search.

Having that would make bookmark management very easy.

It is currently summer in India.

Are there any behavioural or infra modifications that would help handle the increased heat?
I have read about how white roofs would reduce heat absorption and energy needed for cooling
Are there other things like that? Especially ones that regular people can try? The other type(policy decision type) are ok too tho. Would be good to know them.

Also, are there any communities that would have discussions on such topics? Like a TIL or DIY community where people talked about general issues and solutions.
Is it this community?

I think the most recent documentary film I saw was Sicko. Saw it being shared after the insurance CEO issue.

Just shared a recent example I remember, films from all language or region are ok.

Did not have any major resolutions, but have been exercising decently for a year and half or so.

I can search in the bookmarks section and see some bookmarks that I want to remove, but can't select them while in the bookmark search results.

Is there any way to select multiple bookmarks based on a name or link and delete them?

I do know that I can do it by syncing to a PC and deleting it from there, but asking to see if there are alternatives ways.

How do(or how would) you handle this issue?

Searched the net about it, but most of the articles on List all tabs seems to be on how to remove it

What are your views?
Especially on whether land and education reforms are needed.

In your locality, region, state, country etc
Any orgs like that.

Examples from the area I'm from, Kerala:

  1. Kudumbasree or Prosperity of the family
Org that was setup by the state govt to empower women, reduce poverty etc.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kudumbashree

  2. Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad or Kerala Science Literature Movement
Org with the aim to improve scientific temper
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerala_Sasthra_Sahithya_Parishad

Another org that I've recently heard about in the state of Maharashtra, India:
Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti or Committee Eradication of Blind Faith, Maharsashtra
Read about how the leader of the org was gunned down by religious extremists
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maharashtra_Andhashraddha_Nirmoolan_Samiti
