They're not, its just that decent electric drive trains are kinda expensive. Old 4 cylinder engines with simple transmissions are actually pretty cheap to manufacture in comparison. There are some that work fine (Mini Cooper Se for example), but they usually have a fairly short range of under 100 miles.

It took me way longer to realize an article about how Alaskan airlines was giving passengers a pass to bring your own pocket tools on one of their flights that it really should have. My only real excuse was that the site wasn't the onion.

Metalocalypse:The army of the doomstar.
I watched a ton of metalocalypse when I was younger, and was really annoyed when it got canceled on a cliff hanger. Cut to just a while ago, they finally made an end movie, which I watched as soon as it was available, yohohoho. I went ahead and bought the Blu-ray, just because I am so glad that they could get it financed and wanted to make sure that stuff like that would continue to be encouraged. I'm not gonna say it is the most intellectually stimulating plot, but it has played a part in shaping my darker humor.

Yay, now we can use electrolysis on sea water to recombine and create fresh water easier!

I mean, they often do. But if the rents too damn high and you don't get paid enough, there isn't much that knowing how to budget is going to help with.

Nah, he wasn't actually flying. He was however on route to fly, which was worrying.

Supposedly, he took the mushies around 48hrs before, so they were out of his system. So it was probably just extreme sleep deprevation. Which begs the question, it that just considered normal on airlines?

The problem with that is that phevs are surprising expensive/heavy/complicated. It's why Chevy discontinued the volt over the bolt. And why chevy had to cut a lot of costs on the volt to get it down to a semi-acceptable price (the volt didn't even have power seats except on the Premier, and only on the drivers side).

As a north Carolinian, yep. It sucks more every time you go to the polls.

Yeah. I actually went from usb c only phone to one with a headphone jack again, and I've decided I'm not even considering devices without a headphone jack. The dongles suck from either a usability perspective or a software one, and they just add another point of failure rather than just using a very simple aux jack. I get why a lot of manufacturers stopped supporting them (it costs some money, and the dongle make them some), but it's still very, very dumb.

I think a lot of the issue is that softbank had the idea of if they can invest a bit and get a good amount of growth, how about they invest a ton more from the outset and "guarentee" insane growth. They did that with a few startups and it worked, then they did it with WeWork and it spectacularly backfired. The basic premise of WeWork was pretty sound until the real estate market started going up in price, which kind of blew up the margins that WeWork lived in. That and a frankly financially crazy CEO kind of ruined it.
