We heard a lot about that. It would have been revolutionary and many teams tried to replicate it. Their failure to do so, and its subsequent discredit, are well documented.

How often does the …senate? vote on a federal funding bill, and why does the last one expire? Why isn't there some default level of funding for federal spending?

It is my policy to treat people as human beings regardless of their immigration status.

In my country the checkbox must be for opt-in. And it must start off unchecked.

I understand the electric bit is cheaper and more efficient in city traffic while the fossil bit is more supported over long distance travel.

It seems intended for the teething stage where the charging point infrastructure isn't rolled out extensively enough for pure EV usage, and public transport doesn't do the thing.

I see a risk in complacency where the final steps aren't taken of rolling out charging points and buffing transit because hybrids are "good enough". Probably not a massive risk though as fossil's stigma grows and fuel prices rise.

I find brutalism beautiful. Wish we could have more of it in my country but solid concrete, especially preformed, performs poorly under shear.

It's gotten so "brutalist" is almost synonymous with "earthquake-prone".

When I'm in the zone, my heart rate slows, as do my breathing rate and rate of blinking. I forget about hunger, thirst, sleep, toilet, and all other problems. The only thing in the world is the thing I'm working on. Time passes unnoticed. Afterwards it all comes crashing back.

I adore pōhutukawa, Metrosideros excelsa. Gorgeous colours, heavenly scent when it's in bloom, and the wrought branches and aerial roots give it such an evocative stance.

I'm also a fan of the wind-tortured gigantic Old Man Pine (Cupressus macrocarpa in particular).

Not in Australia, but good suggestion in some other countries!

I see the block of the birth certificates as being ostensibly in support of the prohibition of this practice, but I can also very well see the underlying intent as being anti- same-sex-parenting.

Further, I don't understand why the practice should be prohibited in the first place.

So I disagree with it, but on the other hand I also disagree with it. Am just a filthy foreigner though so other than this comment I'll keep it to myself.

I suspect the ban on disposable vapes will have some effect.

So would an age limit on nicotine-containing product purchases, but there's less unanimity on the need for that.

Those people always seem to ignore the fact that 5% increase on sod all is still sod all.
