Weird. Regardless, shit suddenly seems to be working.

[–] Balerion6@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

How would I know/handle that?

Not sure if this goes here; apologies if it doesn't.

I created an account to try out Piefed, and the above message shows up on my homepage. However, no such email exists in my inbox. I've checked my spam folder. Not sure if any functionality is missing because of this.

All help appreciated.

Yeah. Piefed seems like a better client, but I just really don't want to make another account.

Your wish is my command.

Three are orange and one is brown. The brown one, however, is a little older and appears to be from a different litter.

Did you miss the second sentence or... ?

I love Pathfinder 2E! I'm a pretty new player, but it's captured my heart. The three-action economy is great and offers so much freedom. The characters are INSANELY customizable, and I love how multiclassing works. And to top it all off, everything you need to play is free! Only the lore and campaigns have to be purchased. Plus, iirc, Paizo has vowed never to use generative AI in their works!

Literally does not matter. Both are violently racist organizations.

By being picky and only actively seeking out my favorite genre.

I thought this was a pretty good video. Frankly, I disagree with what a lot of people in anti-AI communities say about the superiority of doing things the hard way. I don't think there's anything wrong with the easy way if it gets you the same result, and I don't think we've lost anything meaningful just because, say, the average person no longer has any phone numbers memorized. I think technology making life easier is a good thing.

But, as Rebecca Watson points out, so-called AI doesn't just replace things like rote memorization. It replaces thinking. That's dangerous, and therein lies the difference between AI and other tools.

I'm just going to leave this here. Title is a bit clickbait-y, but it's a good video. https://youtu.be/DNE0sy7mR5g

Fuck you, that's how. It's pretty much only cars. Not having a car isn't really an option here, unless maybe you live in the heart of a big city.

What abilities would it erode? Your ability to spell? But the only difference is whether you take the 10 seconds to google the spelling or let autocorrect do it for you. That's not a meaningful difference.

Apologies if this question doesn't go here, but I wasn't sure where else to ask. I was curious if anyone was working on something a la Reddit Enhancement Suite. I use old reddit partially because RES is such a great tool, and I'd love to see something similar for Lemmy. In particular, I like being able to tag users.

TL;DR for AI writing warning signs:

  • Use of the em-dash (—)
  • Parallel sentence structure (e.g. "It's not just X, it's Y")
  • Grouping things in threes or at least odd numbers
  • Delineating line breaks with emojis
  • Odd/unnatural verbiage
  • Overuse of filler words (talking like your average LinkedIn post)
  • Exaggerated and empty praise
  • Weird analogies and similes
  • Restating and overclarifying points

TL;DR for signs something was written by a human:

  • Including anecdotes
  • Written in the first person
  • Tangents and nonlinear storytelling
