I swear to god asparagus didn't feel like an "oof..." purchase like 5 years ago.

Too bad there isn't a precedent set of a party completely flipping the entire US southeast in modern history, otherwise they would have to consider it something within the realm of possibility and have to believe in themselves.

This is the bourgeoisie but with $50,000 watches and $500,000 cars and $5,000,000 homes.

Also I suffer the same ailment but for me it definitely comes from this era of no "go-to pick up and play online multiplayer game". BF 1942, Halo 2, Halo 3, OG Cod 4, TF2, Cod MW2, Bad Company 3, early GTA online, even WoW in its first few years all occupied this space at some point (TF2 the longest), but they're all either gone, hallowed out, low pop dead, or the current iteration is enshittified asscheeks. The closest I can get is fiesta mode in Halo Infinite of all things, but there's also no social culture in anything now cause voice chat is off for everything. If you have a tight group of friends for co-op, there's a steady stream of meme games like Lethal Company, but all the previously mentioned games you could have just as good of a time solo in pubs, which makes a lot of difference.

"Republicans are fascists, that's why we need to work with them to come to a middle ground compromise." -Democrats

The middle ground compromise:

I refuse to discuss politics with anyone IRL unless they reveal their income level. Surprise, the 100k/yr seniored manager thinks the economy works fine on his machine! What am I ever going to get out of that conversation?

I work in a library in Florida and all my lib coworkers are worried about the rightoids coming for our budgets when its like, 1. The rightoids have been in charge down here the whole time and 2. It's actually deep blue New York fucking City and their Dem mayor that are cutting library budgets. By the time we get budget cuts it will have been completely normalized by the rich blue states.

If it means so much to you, hold yourself to your own standards and go knock on doors and make phone calls. There's no scenario where there's a super serious threat and your role in defeating it is just hanging out online.
