Yeah 'food shortage not rising to full blown famine' would probably be more accurate. There have been several severe droughts in the USSR/Russia since WWII that impacted food availability.

This chart shows the age distribution:

By your logic, Canada has twice the population of the US. This is obviously not the case.

Land area has little to do with population as you yourself eloquently show with the examples in your statement. The area's culture, history, and environment are all more relevant factors for demographics. The USSR's population was the hardest hit by WWII and their population 'catch up' hindered by frequent famines.

Would you kindly edit the "they're" to "Omar and Tlaib" please?

You begin with a general "they're" and the preceding comment you replied to is talking about AOC and Tlaib. This is confusing.

[–] Burstar@sopuli.xyz 1 points 3 days ago (4 children)

AOC is Catholic, not Muslim.

Refusing to answer questions. Edit: trolling would probably be a better word.

It's a fair point. I agree they would have attacked Zelensky no matter what, but IMO when Zelensky handed them their ass they fell back to core principles and so unsurprisingly resulted to classist insults.

Regardless, I'm really not that invested in the topic. My issue was the OP was hiding behind quotation marks instead of saying what they wanted to say and sealioning instead of explaining when people asked for clarification. My interpretation being so off mark itself shows an explaination was warranted.

If you don't understand how criticizing not wearing a suit relates to working class I don't think I can help you.

Going after someone for not wearing the right colour suit is similar in nature: 'you are not one of us'.

During his visit to Washington on Feb. 28, President Volodymyr Zelensky had a heated exchange with U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance over ways to end Russia's war against Ukraine. Trump and Vance have repeatedly claimed that Zelensky has not been sufficiently grateful for U.S. support throughout the war. The Kyiv Independent has compiled instances where Zelensky has publicly expressed gratitude to the U.S., its people, and its leadership for being Ukraine’s largest supporter.

Join us for the first TELL! of the year!

MT Space’s open mic and community potluck event is back! Kicking the year off, we're inviting families of artists and performers of all ages to come showcase your talents and projects. We're inviting anyone - including kids and youth - to sing, dance, or just update us on what you’ve been working on lately. There will even be crafts table available for anyone wanting to get hands on or just chill with some crayons.

This is a casual community platform for those who are just starting out but also professionals. Whether you're a child or an adult, we ask that all sharings be kept PG-13 for this edition of TELL!

WHEN: Feb 18, 2025 | Doors 5 PM | Event 5:30 PM

About TELL!

TELL! is MT Space's coffeehouse open-mic style event offering the community an artistic platform to share their works in a casual setting. These sharings can be performances, stories, lectures, poetry, drag, fine art displays -- any type of creation.

We know that art and food bring people together like nothing else. Join us for a potluck meal and bring a food offering* to share if you're able to. We'll provide plates, cutlery, and beverages (coffee, tea, and water). Help us reduce waste by bringing in your own reusable cups, bottles, and mugs for water and coffee!

*Please include an ingredients list for any dishes you bring.

Use this as an opportunity to get feedback from an engaged audience of fellow artists and community members, or simply show us what you've got! Bring anything you may need for your performance/presentation, including amps for instruments.

Even if you don’t have anything to present now, come and share a meal with the community. Come dressed in your sweats, or as a fairy princess, this is a space to express yourself however you see fit. This is the community platform.
