Very few people are aware of PSL's presidential campaigns and they got less than 1% of the vote. I don't begrudge them running; I voted for PSL in 2024 and 2020.

However, running a competitive council race in Philly or DC might get more national coverage and serve as a bigger propaganda platform than a presidential run.

What if that presidential run doubles the size of your revolutionary party?

If PSL's 2024 presidential run did this, I'd be impressed and have to reconsider what I wrote above. But to my knowledge, PSL doesn't publish its membership numbers and hasn't claimed to have doubled in size due to their 2024 presidential campaign.

Running for council in big to medium sized cities seems like a good strategy to me. It's not hyper local like some town of 20k people, but it's not a quixotic presidential run.

NYC DSA, for all its faults, is propagandizing with the Zorhan mayoral run.

We had one of those Bernie rallies near us a while ago and did similar numbers.

Less luck with the No Kings protest, but did okay

I went to one and propagandized. It wasn't the most receptive audience, but made some connections.

Yup, generally speaking, only countries nukes are truly sovereign

They can't really do proportional response without risking Israel nuking them.

This reality underlies all of Iran's actions regarding Israel.

I have not noticed this decrease.

What sea people?

Those who reached my boundary, their seed is not; their hearts and their souls are finished forever and ever. As for those who had assembled before them on the sea, the full flame was their front before the harbour mouths, and a wall of metal upon the shore surrounded them. They were dragged, overturned, and laid low upon the beach; slain and made heaps from stern to bow of their galleys, while all their things were cast upon the water.

Real "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra" hours

"An unprecedented 146 opposition members of parliament of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been suspended for the rest of the winter session.  Apart from the ‘loyal’ opposition MPs belonging to parties like the BJD, YSRCP and AIADMK, there will be no opposition MPs left in either house by December 22."

This vibes anecdotally with my local chapter. In the face of overwhelming membership solidarity with Palestinian liberation, the social imperialist reactionaries are purging themselves.

“North Korea has long supported Palestinian militant groups, and North Korean arms have previously been documented amongst interdicted supplies,” Jenzen-Jones told the AP.

KCNA on Anti-Capitalist Demonstration Sweeping World Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- "Occupy Wall Street" demonstration is sweeping across the capitalist world including the U.S.

Millions of people took to the streets in more than 1,500 cities in over 80 countries, sounding a note of warning against the capitalist system.

This was a stern judgment of unpopular system that brings exploitation, oppression, unemployment and poverty to the popular masses.

As known, the catastrophic financial crisis that broke out in the U.S. in 2007 prompted unprecedented business bankruptcy and unemployment, causing huge damage to the people's living.

Low-income earners' pent-up wrath against avaricious big banks and companies that caused economic inequality finally gave its vent.

As more people joined the protesters, slogan reading "We are 99%" appeared. The capitalist society where money is everything is an unpopular one where the rich get ever richer while the poor ever poorer. In this society 1% of privileged class is granted all preferential treatment while 99% of working masses are forced into poverty and death. The gap between the rich and the poor now in the U.S. is the most serious since the great depression in the 1930s.

The amount of income held by the privileged class which accounts only for 1 % of population increased from 10% to 24% for the past three decades in the U.S. The real income for 90% of Americans showed decrease from 1970 and over 15% of the population joined the poor group.

401,000 more people were registered as unemployed in the first week of October in the U.S. while the number of unemployed reached 22,785,000 in EU member nations. The number of people suffering from poverty totaled 46.2 million in the U.S. last year. The number of homeless families showed steady increase in recent years.

The income for American families went down nearly 10 % over the past four years. The worsening global financial crisis proves that the capitalist society is a heaven for a handful of exploiters and oppressors but a hell for the majority of working class and that this kind of unpopular society can not last long.

Capitalism has nothing to do with the wellbeing of the people. The nature of the exploiting class never changes and the socio-class contradiction of capitalism gets acuter even though the world entered the new century. The cyclic economic depression and destitution of people leading to protest is unavoidable under the capitalist system. The end of capitalism is one of inevitabilities of history.
