Oof.. then it might not be the browser. Maybe an extension?
Hope it works!
Have you tried a chromium browser? I haven't tried browsing lemmy on FF yet, but I never had that issue on chromium (Brave).
I tried reinstalling the update and it became laggy for me. I just force stopped it then cleared cache. It's working smooth now.
I agree. It's nice to get feedback but in the end your experience with something will probably be the major reason for your decision.
With regards to the political stuff... idk. I understand where people are coming from, I really do, but my stay here hasn't been tainted by political stuff from either side. I'll try to judge them by their actions. They've been very objective as far as I can see so I have nothing against them.
Lemmy works for me primarily because of Jerboa.
I used power delete and it sent me a backup. Idk what to do with it yet.
Same. It's not about the app anymore. It's about reddit itself.
I didn't see those. My bad!
Privacy is non-existent on reddit anyway, just because lemmy is imperfect there doesn't mean it's any worse than reddit, and this is a public forum, there's no privacy anyway.
Completely agree. Just look at reddit's TOS. They own your data. Unfortunately, it still doesn't stop people from raising it as if reddit is a bastion of privacy and security.
I've also seen concerns about privacy and politics. It'd be great if you addressed that, too. I'd love to send you an upvote but I deleted all my accounts. 😅
I just don't understand why they (or just spez?) are/is intent on badmouthing the Apollo dev.
Tildes is the only other alternative that I know besides lemmy. It's more focused on discussion, as you probably know. Personally, though, I doubt it can scratch my reddit itch. I do enjoy discussions, but I also need my "nonsense stuff" fix like memes. I do like what they're trying to do. I think they're a good complementary site to lemmy if someone is ditching reddit altogether.
