There's just no way. It would be the final strategic disaster. There'd be no strategic capacity left to deal with China. The US shied away from war 20 years ago when it might have been possible, now there's no way, they can't even deal with Yemen. The only move against Iran is to use Israel's nuclear arsenal, and the leadership might get desperate enough to do so.

They'll just do what Foxxcon did in Wisconsin, take the money, massively under-deliver (maybe ask for more money at that point), and then hope the failure will be too embarrassing for politicians to hold them accountable over it. At that point we're another five years down the road, and China's semiconductor industry has completely caught up or already absorbed TSMC along with the rest of Taiwan and the execs have other things to worry about.

Losing will be better for fundraising, that's for sure.

Alien Jesus theory confirmed.

Honestly it's super dumb. Ukraine's attacks on the Russian oil industry are one of the smartest things they can do. It's basically how Ansarallah got their ceasefire with the Saudis. The US can just have the Saudis press the 'more oil' button if Russian supplies are disrupted, and it's Russian exports of of oil and natural gas that are keeping their war economy going strong. Maybe this is just noise to placate European capitalists suffering from high prices.

Yep, Russia is fighting an aggressive war no one is too enthusiastic about dying for while Ukraine is fighting a PR war to try to pull in enough Western weapons/money to keep things going.

They would have been in a much stronger negotiating position vis-à-vis France. Now they'll get all the expenses of supporting US nuclear subs and only one boat to show for it. They should pull out of the deal, but they'll just double down like with the F-35.

Also simply the fact that Russia has it's hands full in Ukraine and can't do a whole lot for Armenia. Russia also is fairly tight with Azerbaijan.

Getting out of the way before a Zaluzhny coup? If she burned her bridges with him...

She can make more money this way and she might be back under a different administration.

Republicans don't actually want to "solve" the "border issue". They want cheap grey market labor for their buddies. They want illegal immigration (if it's legal they can't bully their immigrant workers with threats of deportation). This is one area where Republicans are like Democrats and completely ignore their base in practice, while paying lip service to the policies they want. Biden conceding to Republicans on the border does absolutely nothing for him, it's baby-brained liberalism.
