As for their alliance with the libs, it was just to prevent the fascist from gaining more seats (actuallyjust a matter of saving face for the presidential party), the libs had no will to take their alliance further than that, and were very clear about their unwillingness to accept any government proposed by NFP. Besides, when the dust settled, the "socialists" resumed their courting of the right, further weakening NFP.
