Most presidential elections have had some kind of doomsayers. This particular election has a candidate that supported (supposedly indirectly) an insurrection, stated it's ok to execute political opponents, and has openly said some very nazi like things. This election is a bit different than the others.

Then the left puts up a weak candidate, again, and says eat that shit sandwich, so I get the frustration.

In the U.S. (not sure if this is elsewhere) you have the work number too. Employers that participate share every pay period and bonis to your record. Then future employers can look up and see exactly how much you were making when they run the background check.

Working only 60 hours a week and hoping that a sickness doesn't bankrupt you.

Agreed that it would be gone if it was feasible. I worked for a small manufacturer and helped with quoting. It was three times less for us to send a product to Mexico for production.

Where the US is better is automation and complexity. In Mexico or was difficult to find the technical resources able to handle automated and complex projects. Mexico was better for any manually/ sinple assembly job, as they could just throw more people at it to ramp up production. Note that these are generalities that my specific team used.

Fantastic news.

As a white collar worker, how can I contribute to this change?

[-] DEngineer@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

Depends on age. Being younger, I would probably work and try to live off my 24K for a couple years, putting away the salary from my job. If the lifestyle fit, then I would quit and take this path with a little safety net setup.

If this is going to be the Democrats stance, that the economy is in good shape, then Trump has an actual chance at winning. WTF is wrong with them, dilusional.

Good companies that don't realize they don't own their employees should suffer. Maybe if a few go under for horrible policies, workers will start to use their upper hands.

What are the other two that are down hooked up to?

I use one old flat pillow on the bottom and one new pillow on the top. Perfect 1.5 pillow height every night.

My dad had been growing for awhile now but he is running into this on a few of his plants. He hasn't changed anything from previous successful grows. Water, soil, nutrients is all the same and fresh.

These were started indoors until about two foot tall and planned outdoor. Zone 5B. Watered daily, no water logging off soil. All three were started from seed and all the are different strain. My dad is very experienced with this but I am not. If I left anything important out please let me know and I'll get the info from him.

Depends on how interested I am in the position. Personally, I would give them another chance but be looking for more red flags. I would modify my interview questions to be more direct and looking for further evidence of disorganization. Not knowing your industry, a few come to mind.

  • What is your on time project delivery percentage?

  • What is the most positive and the most negative feedback you receive from your customers?

  • What is currently the biggest challenge within this team/ department?

  • What is one the teams most recent accomplishments?

Every company I've been in has some level of disorganization. While it's frustrating, it's typically not a deal breaker for me. I do tend to ask for additional compensation based on my perceived negatives of the company, assuming I'm not desperate for the job.
