Thank you! I forget that Wizards can swap prepared spells out of combat in this game

Ah gotcha. I’d be interested to hear why they made that choice. On the bright side, there’s already a mod to unlock multiclassing for story . I can’t speak to ease of installation or possible issues obviously, but if you’re comfortable using Vortex (the mod manager from Nexus Mods) it should be pretty straightforward

EDIT: I’ll paste the link here at the bottom since link-naming isn’t displaying correctly on my phone

My guess would be it’s a cost-cutting/time-saving measure. Fully voicing all the PC lines would skyrocket the total amount of lines each VO would need to read (think not only of all the dialogue you select, but all the dialogue you don’t, as well as all the dialogue that results from those other options you didn’t pick, and dialogue specific to backgrounds and classes that’s not available to you on a given playthrough). That‘s before accounting for the extra animation and whatnot.

I agree that it would be really cool, but if it’s even half as expensive as I imagine it would be, I understand why it’s not in the game

Your character speaks when you take actions and while walking around (if you have that enabled), so you’re choosing what that voice sounds like

I have the option to multiclass playing on “normal”. Is it confirmed that they don’t permit it on the “story” difficulty? I ask because the level-up screen could be tweaked a bit in my opinion; it’s not super obvious what you need to click on

Thanks for following up! That’ll be good to know to have an alternative at the very least

Yeah that’s what almost 3 years of Early Access can do for you. On top of completely changing the game, they’ve also been able to fix things the players have found over time

Sorry, when I say “picked up” I mean selected as a learned spell when I levelled up (you can also start the game with it). I actually wouldn’t know where to find a spell scroll for it

Baldur’s Gate 3’s being a properly big deal has been great to see. DOS2 got great reviews but I would say it was just barely a mainstream game; I would have to tell my friends about it. Now I’ve got people telling me about things relating to Baldur’s Gate 3. I hope Larian absolutely crushes it here in terms of sales and attention, and if the whole package is as good as we hope I’d love to see some awards come their way too

Get an RSS reader! I use NetNewsWire on iOS and Mac but there’s a huge variety out there to choose from. Once you’ve made your choice, you can add RSS feeds from different websites (Reuters, NPR, etc.), so you can have one feed that aggregates articles from all the news sources you’ve selected, or customise different feeds focusing on politics, economics, cars, whatever you want. I can even add in different substacks I’m subscribed to. Once upon a time you could also add your Twitter and Reddit feeds, but with the API shenanigans that’s not available anymore sadly

Oh interesting. Did they say what that could be?

[–] DonnieDarkmode@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah I think I’ll do that instead since I’d like to keep things as untouched as possible
