Their individual votes count more than those of more populous states.
Obviously he shouldn't have to run, but he's not remotely too old. He's sharp, has experience dealing with the political system (and succeeding), is extremely knowledgeable and insightful about the state of society, etc.
He doesn't want to be a politician, though, so it's a moot point.
Jon Stewart is not that old. He's only 61.
I no longer live in Japan, but I had the same experience. It is still generally considered impolite to walk and eat at the same time, unless it's something like an ice cream cone or dango at a festival.

When Biden stepped down, I immediately said that Trump has won. There was no way the US was going to elect a woman of color.

Many, many Americans do not see things that way at all. You constantly encounter people saying that they like Chinese people but not the CCP, for example.
I almost wish we could just be our own country. Washington, Oregon, and California are already very much aligned with one another.
That movie is fantastic. I had no idea it had poor ratings. Just thought it flew under the radar.
