Havent read the article yet but guess teacher's best option is to go back to paper and do all of their work during class period. Not sure how they'll handle homework though or outside projects

Currently in transition. I have about 300ish accounts to change the email handles but i set myself a goal of at least 10 a day, more if I feel like it. Its a journey not a race take your time. In the mean time though you should be backing up anything important off of your account if you havent already like contacts, photos, files and messages. That should help with your nerves, at least it did with me.

Oh just because sandboxed google services is installed doesnt mean your payment info is shared between different applications/websites assuming proper encryption on their end. If you want to improve your privacy for electronic payments like others said monero is best but since thats not widely used yet a card masking service is what you want for now. However you'll be relying on a third party, privacy.com is what the majority use afaik. As for gpay, privacy from google is basically nonexistent, obviously, but if you mean privacy from merchants then they already mask your card information for transactions iirc. I suggest either using a card masking service, another electronic money service such as paypal (shit privacy but you wont be tied to google), or even using a prepaid visa gift card or giftcards in general paid in cash at your local drugstore.

Like adding it to google pay? Or do you mean for electronic payments in a profile with sandboxed google play services?

Ooo cant wait to hear how long the device life support will be heard its going to compete with ios in terms of longevity. Just hope they wont go the fairphone route

Edit: afaik Fairphone is offering 8 years of software updates but due to the hardware the security updates will be limited after 5 years specifically the lack of baseband security updates. Still good regardless for sustainability but not security. This person's comment made me aware

Same notifications arent an issue with the app running in the background.

For encryption I stick to veracrypt for local and cryptomator for cloud storage (has a paid mobile application but free on desktop). 7zip also has an option to password protect but not sure how resilient that is.

Thought that was a dead project

Can even get the apk from their website that has a self updater so no aurora store/playstore needed also available on ios. Simplex is another option but not as user friendly for older folk

Damn thats disappointing so much goddamn potential too. What do you think their solution is going to be when support inevitably ends and they still have to fulfill their promise?
