I shouldn't have said Russia started it, but meant instead to cite back to Dostoevsky's analysis of lying in Russia. The essay is an observation of why lying is so prevalent in late 1800's Russia.

It's actually a form of propaganda the Russians started called Vranyo. Repeating a known lie is a ritual used to establish in-group/out-group dynamics. All the folks who repeat the lie are signaling they are acting in unison, refuting the argument indicates that you are a member of the out group.

In the month of October, Trump has drilled down on his campaign message to round up and kill liberals while Kamala has been forgiving Israel for the most heinous crimes to occur with in my lifetime. A couple years ago Hexbears lambasted me for not being angry about the railroad strike. I said from my experience in my union we were barely an institution let alone a left wing institution.
