Serious question here: how terrible that earthquake was for you guys?

Here in Chile, 4.8 is like nothing happened at all. The news wouldn't cover it.

I've been doing this for free.

Meme: You guys are getting paid?

Only one, Plex and I share it with friends and family.

I've been selfhosting this for months, it works great. Only thing is that most of the time I scroll through the same post like 20 times a day, i don't know why.

I really don't want to be available for work while I'm driving. At least give me that time frame for myself.

That's the reason I absolutly refuse to ever buy a game from Epic. Fuck'em.

I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3 on my Steam Deck since release, it's been such a great experience I can not recommend it enough, I never thought I would be able to play such a great game confortably from my bed on a "handheld" (?).

Fuck EA, I already don't buy their games because of their bullshit launcher. This will keep me not buying their game even more.

Genuine question here: why?

[-] Feliberto@programming.dev 10 points 10 months ago

I'm considering buying Starfirld after I finish Baldurs Gate 3, for the sole reason of Bethesda not implementing denuvo, if they had done it 10/10 would have pirated it.

Same here, I kind of enjoy purchasing great games like Baldur's Gate 3 or small developers game.

I also kind of enjoy giving my money to companied like Steam when they sell great devices like Steam Controller or Steam Deck (not so much Steam Link, I never used it).

On the other hand, companies like Epic Games that removed support for Rocket League for Linux can go fuck themselves. Or companies like Netflix or Disney that hikes prices and removes features like account sharing or block content just because I dont live in the US, I stopped giving them money when piracing was more convenient than paying them. It's not about the money anymore, it's about customer satisfaction.

I don't think the era of cheap streaming is over, on the contrary, it's greater than it's ever been.

My selfhosted Plex and Jellyfin are booming, and services like Netflix and Disney+ just made my family and friends to adopt the streaming services faster.

I stop paying two years ago and I've noticed no difference in quality or content.

Thanks Netflix for rekindling my love for the seven seas.

I spent way too much time troubleshooting BG3 on my Steam Deck because it would not start, and when it finally did it had no sound.

The fix at least for me was quite simple, and someone mentioned it on a reddit post lost in the middle on nowhere.

Fix: Uninstall Decky's PowerTools.

After I removed it, the game just simply worked.

Hi guys,

My first post on Lemmy. I recently purchased from Aliexpress a 65W GaN Charger with HDMI+Ethernet+USB included in one single package, here's what I think of it.

First, I bought it because I think it's really handy to only have to pack one single charger instead of charger+dock. I did not have much expectations of it, but it kind of delivered.

HDMI works great, it detects my LG C1 as 1080p@120 inmediatly, if I want 4K i can force 2160p@30 on the Steam Deck Display Configuration.

Ethernet works (?), my Steam Deck is the only device I own that uses this chargers full speed, I speedtested within my own network and with an external network and it managed to achieve 900/900 Mbps which is really decent and way more than what I expected.

Sadly, I also tried this Charger with my Samsung S22 Ultra and Lenovo T490 laptop, and none of these could achieve half of what Steam Deck did. I'm not techy enough to know if there is some kind of difference between USB-C ports in any of those devices. This means I will not be using this GaN Charger as a daily driver for all my devices.

The USB included in the charger was a hit or miss depending on the device you connect. I tested connecting the Ethernet+HDMI+USB Steam Controller Dongle and it passed the test, the same happened with my Logitech Wireless Keyboard Dongle, on the other hand, when I replaced it with the dongle of a Chinese mini Keyboard (Rii i4 Mini) then the charger could not handle both USB and Ethernet at the same time.

The last thing I have to say about this charger is that I really hate the LED light included, it's unnecesary, it's way too bright and it will interfere with your sleep if you keep it plugged at night.

TL;DR: It's a great little $50USD device, it performed better than I expected, but it won't play nice with all my devices.
