true, i think many billionaires want such kind of power, but i think for now they prefer to influence Government policy, and many ways it works better, i.e. no corpo-wars.

its much more lame, what state-like power does Musk have? None. All the corps in Cyberpunk have equivalent powers to nation-states, their own armies. McPolice and all.

i think closest to that irl currently is Palantir and some of the MIC Corps but they don't fight their own wars yet.

Reducing debt requires continuous Gov surpluses, who's going to pay for it? Not his class I'm sure.

They could've let the deficit rise, lower taxes on the rich but keep the already low SNAP, Medicaid. But nope, not bad enough.

Why does it even matter? It's not like he has that much political power as a mayor. I will be happy to see basic socdem policies like free bus service, rent freezes, a few Government owned 'ration' stores.

Yea weird how it works. A Government deficit directly increases private profits especially when targeted towards those who don't (can't) save much. The capitalists prefer control over more profits sometimes.

It is true that profits would be higher under a regime of full employment than they are on the average under laissez-faire; and even the rise in wage rates resulting from the stronger bargaining power of the workers is less likely to reduce profits than to increase prices, and thus adversely affects only the rentier interests. But 'discipline in the factories' and 'political stability' are more appreciated than profits by business leaders. Their class instinct tells them that lasting full employment is unsound from their point of view, and that unemployment is an integral part of the 'normal' capitalist system.

Its not even full employment anymore but scraps of welfare for people who are already working at poverty wages in the private sector.

Such a shame so many regions of the game are underdeveloped still. The big port especially.

Dogtown is goated though.

Something with cabin pressure

According to Japan’s transport ministry, the aircraft’s alarm system detected an abnormality in the mechanism responsible for maintaining cabin pressure.

Looks like the pilots took it down to lower level rapidly on purpose. It wasn't because of some failure in the main flight stuff.

But a global downturn in demand for mined diamonds, which account for more than 80 percent of the Southern African exports, has taken a toll on the economy.

Another L for IMF's "export led growth" model causing economic hardships.

Please do it Mr President. Imagine how high the tariffs have to be. Close to like 50-80% maybe? On all imports. That'll cut purchasing power so much.

And how effective will the tariff collection be compared to income tax? All the income tax workers will have to be transferred to customs. If the efficiency isn't similar, then US Dollar might have issues.

And it is much easier as of right now to evade customs and tarrifs than income taxes. You can undervalue very easily.

And with exports of China shrinking because of tariffs they'll be forced to increase domestic demand.

Trump really hates Amerikkka.

I've been thinking about what that Palestinan man said about Sinwar providing Israel the justification for genocide.

I thought when Oct 7th happened "Israel is going to kill so many people", I thought they would stop (or would be stopped) at 5k, 10k dead but no they (were allowed to) continue.

Would the US and the West have allowed Israel to do this without Oct 7th happening? Probably not. They would've likely approved 2021 like attacks but not this. But at the same time I don't think Gaza was in "peace" before Oct 7. It's literally a prison, their unemployment rate was like 40%.

Fun fact: USSR provided Cuba provided with discounted oil in exchange for Cuban sugar at above market prices.
